POLICE LOG: Teens Mug Man in Wheelchair

The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Featured Call of the Day:

Nov. 5 – At 6:01 p.m., police spoke to a Woburn man who said he was mugged by two teenage boys on Pleasant Street. According to police, the man, who is in a wheelchair, went to the Sovereign Bank ATM on Pleasant Street and was followed by two teenage boys. The man told police when he left the ATM, the boys started talking to him. Police reported that while the teens were talking, one suddenly grabbed $40 from the man’s hand and both ran. The teens are described as white males, about 13 to 17 years old. One was wearing a baseball cap and was “skinny,” said police. 

 

Other Incidents:

Nov. 5 –

At 8:31 a.m., Jose Duley Zapata, 21, of 111 Locust St. Apt. #72, was arrested and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, an outstanding warrant and a passing violation. According to police, an officer stopped Zapata during routine traffic patrol on Salem Street.

At 9:15 a.m., police responded to a two-car accident at the Woburn Mall on Mishawum Road. According to police, one car changed lanes and side-swiped a vehicle.

At 3:09 p.m., a Woburn man reported his car damaged while parked on Manns Court.

At 4:25 p.m., police were called to the Joyce Middle School for a report of a vandalized car. According to police, a woman found a “Do Not Enter” sign with the base on her car hood. Police reported the car was scratched by the sign.
