POLICE LOG: Vehicle Break-In Leads to Credit Card Fraud
An excerpt from the WPD police log. The following arrest information was supplied by the Woburn Police Department. The arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

At 4:07 p.m. police responded to the Woburn Country Club on a report of a break-in of a motor vehicle.
Police spoke to the caller who stated that sometime around 11 a.m. that morning someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stolen an envelope with $500 in cash, his wallet and an iPod. The caller also said his debit card had been used twice that morning, once at Radio Shack and once at Whole Foods for a total of $399 in charges.

Police spoke to Whole Foods management and the cashier who processed the transaction. The cashier stated the suspect attempted to purchase two gift cards and when the card was declined the suspect stated he would be right back. When he returned he provided another credit card and added slices of pizza and a sports drink to the order but that card was also declined. When a third card was declined he left the store.
She described the suspect as a white male about forty years old wearing a hat and blue hooded sweatshirt with a scruffy beard and glasses.
Police also spoke to an employee at Radio Shack who described this suspect as a white male in his twenties wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and having a very skinny face.
Other Incidents
April 30-
At 12:54 p.m. two women came to the station to report a stolen laptop. The two women are roommates on Spring Street. One informed police that over the weekend between Friday evening and Sunday morning her Dell Inspire laptop was stolen from their residence. The women named two men as suspects who were visiting that weekend.
There were no signs of forced entry.
At 4:26 p.m. police responded to Stop & Shop on a report of larceny over $250. A loss prevention officer showed police security video of a white male with dark hair walking into the pharmacy area and take 6 Nicorette Gum Boxes that cost $46.99 each for a total of $281.94. The suspect left in a white sedan in the parking lot.
At 7:31 p.m. a woman called about a harassment report she filed last week. She said she had unwanted contact with her boyfriend that day after she had told him numerous times that she didn’t want to see him. She said that morning she was walking and her ex-boyfriend came up beside her in his vehicle and yelled “hey you! Hey you!”
Police contacted the ex and told him to leave the woman alone.
At 9:35 p.m. a man called and stated that his wife’s car, which was parked on Washington Street over the weekend, had been vandalized. He said that when she returned she saw that there were multiple deep scratches all around the vehicle that were made by some type of metal object.
May 1-
At 9:43 a.m. a man came to the station to report receiving damaged property that was returned after an EBay deal. He said he reportedly sold a green pair of Kobe Bryant Nike sneakers on EBay for the sum of $260. The sneakers were returned because the buyer thought they were fake. The buyer’s money was returned but when the sneakers arrived they were damaged (scuff marks).
At 11:13 a.m. police responded to a Conn Street residence on a report of a past burglary. Police spoke to the caller who said he had an issue with his female neighbor across the street and stated he believes that she and her boyfriend were the ones possibly responsible for the past theft.
He said that around 7:30 a.m. that morning he noticed a ladder was fully extended and placed onto his back porch from the rear parking lot. He then went into the back porch and noticed someone had taken approximately $350 from where his son keeps his money.
He said he was a defendant against the neighbor in a harassment protection order hearing and that she said, “You’ll get yours.”
