At 1:14 p.m. a woman came to the station to report an issue related to identity theft. She showed police paperwork from Frontline Asset Strategies, a collection agency that she had received that claimed she owned $21,910.74. She explained that she had been in court in 2010 when her identity had been compromised and she was accused of owing money. She also denied owing the money the agency was looking for.

Police contacted the collection agency and though they would not speak to police about the case they suggested the woman go to civil court.

At 12:40 p.m. police responded to a Drew Place residence on a report of fraud. The caller stated she had rented a home in Bartlett New Hampshire though a Craigslist ad and had prepaid $650 to the reported owner. When she arrived at the location, 372 Jericho Road, there was no home with that address. She spoke to the owner of a neighboring property who said someone had been using pictures of his house for a fraudulent rental ad.  The Craiglist post had since been taken down and she had not been able to contact the people who she paid for the rental.

At 5:33 p.m. police went to a Prospect Street residence on a possible past vehicle breaking and entering. The reason police believes a break might have occurred is that a stolen GPS unit was found in Wilmington that had the Prospect Street home as it’s “home address.” Police spoke to the owner who said that his GPS was stolen a month before while his vehicle was parked on Walnut Street. He said nothing else had been stolen.

The caller said the vehicles were parked near the court house lock up entrance the night before. That morning at 3 a.m. a Lincoln Town Car was keyed and a Ford pick-up truck had the passenger door vent window smashed. The truck belonged to a Woburn resident who is a driver for Commonwealth Livery Inc., and the Town Car was a company vehicle.
