POLICE LOG: Walgreen's Employee Punches Knife-Weilding Would-Be Robber

At 3:59 p.m. police responded to Walgreen Pharmacy on a report of robbery.
Police spoke with the caller who said he delivers prescriptions for the pharmacy and that he made a delivery at 1 Library Place.

As he was exiting the building and was in the parking lot a male party approached him and pulled out a knife. The male was described as Hispanic, 6-feet tall with medium length dark hair and in his mid-20s. He was wearing a black shirt with a green button-up shirt and jeans.
According to the caller the man said, “give me what you have” and began waving the knife.
The employee said he grabbed the suspect’s arm, punched him in the face and began to struggle with the him. At some point the suspect broke free and the would-be robber ran way in the direction of the baseball field. The employee said he was shaken up and didn't call police until he returned to work and told a co-worker what had happened.
The employee had a scratch over his right eye and scrapes on his knuckles from the fight. He stated he was not hurt but believes he had injured the suspect and he may possibly be missing teeth.
Police issued a notice for the suspect but nobody matching the description was found. However a call came in a short time later stating that a male matching the description was seen on a bike on Lexington Street. The area was search but nobody was found.

May 2-
At 7:38 p.m. police issued a citation to a man on Main Street for using a Handicap placard that was not assigned to him to park in a handicap parking spot.
May 3-
At 8:41 a.m. police responded to a Main Street apartment on a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. The caller said she forgot to lock her vehicle overnight and someone entered it and stole items, including her handbag and wallet. A GPS charger was also stolen. Total amount stolen was about $230.
At 9:54 a.m. police responded to a Lawrence Street residence on a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. The caller said he had neglected to lock the doors and that morning found that a GPS unit and a camera that is attached to the car dash was stolen. Total value of items stolen was about $430.
At 6:08 p.m. a woman came to the station to report a theft from her motor vehicle on Caulfield Road sometime the night before. She said she had parked her car in the driveway and that morning she noticed the front door was ajar. The said she had forgotten to lock the vehicle. A GPS unit, a GPS charger, a black case were all stolen. Total amount of items stolen was about $200.
At 8:53 p.m. a woman came to the station to report her vehicle had been broken into on Warren Avenue the night before sometime after 5:30 p.m. She said she had not locked the doors and when she went back she noticed her GPS unit, iPhone charger and iPhone touch were missing, along with a fleece jacket. Total amount stolen was about $770.
May 4-
At 9:23 a.m. police responded to a Middle Street residence for a breaking and entering. Police spoke to the homeowners who showed them the cellar door that had been tampered with. The woman said she noticed that a change box on the first floor of the house was stolen. Other items in plain view, including electronics, were not taken.
At 10:16 a.m. a woman came to the station to report a theft from her motor vehicle that had been parked at Woburn City Hall. The said a Nikon Coolpix digital camera was stolen. Camera was valued at about $100.
At 3:03 p.m. a woman reported her car was keyed while parked outside Woburn Bowladrome.
May 5-
At 4:21 p.m. police responded to Stop & Shop on a report of suspicious activities. The caller stated that two black men arrived at the store in the same vehicle but entered separately and that each man bought gift cards for $100 each and that the first man who entered the store first tried to use a credit card that was declined.
