Scammers Strike During the Weekend In Woburn

When strangers call or email asking for bank account information, social security numbers, or any other info under dubious circumstances, it’s best to disregard their requests.

If something seems fishy, it’s probably because something is, in fact, fishy.

According to Woburn Police, two con artists successfully ripped off Woburn residents this weekend.

One poor soul fell for the IRS impersonation scam that’s become common in Massachusetts during the last few months.

The other sadly sent $300 cash to an individual claiming to need the money to process a claim for a substantially greater sum of money that never existed.
