How Can Crosswalks Be Safer in Woburn?

The community mourned the loss of a 31-year-old father yesterday, an Arlington Road man who was struck down while crossing Washington Street at Leland Park Oct. 9. The man was in the crosswalk, but was hit by a reportedly speeding car. 

In August, another man was struck by a car, also while walking in a crosswalk. In that instance, the driver said solar glare contributed to the accident.  

Today, we ask readers: How can we make our crosswalks safer? What can we do as both drivers and pedestrians to ensure people cross the street without danger? And are there areas where crosswalks are needed?
