Woburn City Council Seeking Candidates To Fill Higgins Seat
Council President Lindsay Higgins stepped down unexpectedly March 2.
WOBURN, MA — Woburn City Council is seeking candidates to fill former council President Lindsay Higgins' seat for the remainder of her term.
Higgins, the Ward 7 alderman, unexpectedly resigned at the end of the council's March 2 meeting. The council elected Alderman Edward Tedesco to serve as president but still needs to fill the vacant alderman position.
The council will vote at a special meeting April 1 on a replacement. The person picked will fill the remainder of the term, which ends with the Nov. 2 municipal election.

Any registered voter who lives in Ward 7 and has been a city resident and U.S. citizen for at least a year is eligible. Those interested should file a letter of interest and resume with the Office of the City Clerk at Woburn City Hall by March 25 at 7 p.m.
