Woburn Collects $1.2 Million in Outstanding Taxes
There is also a public tax title auction for properties in default, the first in the city in more than 25 years.

Mayor Scott Galvin and Treasurer/Collector Timothy Donovan announced in a release on the city's web site that there has been significant progress in the city’s recent efforts to resolve long outstanding tax issues with properties currently in tax title status.
According to the release, in late October 2012, the City of Woburn partnered with the law offices of D’Ambrosio Brown LLP of Boston to assist with researching and resolving tax title property matters in a more effective manner. Since the inception of this relationship, the City of Woburn has collected more than $1.2 million dollars in tax title revenue owed to the City.
The changes in how much is being collected is quite significant. According to the notice, prior to the start of the new effort, Woburn collected an average of $200,000 to $250,000 annually in tax title revenue. In the past five months the city has collected more than $1.2 million. The extra funds will help maintain services and be used to plan for the city's future, the release states.
