Woburn Election Guide: When And Where To Vote, Who's Running

Everything you need to know about Woburn's Nov. 2 municipal election.

WOBURN, MA — Voters in Woburn will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 2, for the 2021 general election.

Over twenty candidates returned nomination papers to run in the 2021 municipal election. There are competitive races for mayor, School Committee and multiple city council seats.

The deadline to register to vote was Oct. 24. You can check your voting status on the Secretary of State's website, where you can also find your polling place.

Registering To Vote

The registration deadline was Oct. 13.

You can check your registration online at www.sec.state.ma.us.

Mail-in Voting

Vote-by-mail applications are due by Wednesday, Oct. 27.

Ballots may be returned by mail, in person at the City Clerk's office or using the drop box at the rear of City Hall. They cannot be delivered at your Election Day polling place.

Ballots must be received by the close of voting, 8 p.m. on Nov. 2.

Absentee voting

You can apply in person at the City Clerk's Office for an absentee ballot until Monday, Nov. 1 at noon.

"To be eligible to vote by absentee ballot, the voter must be out of the city during the hours the polls are open, have a physical inability to get to the polls or have a religious belief that prohibits the voter from voting on election day," the city clerk said.

Early in-person voting

Voters had the option of voting early in person Oct. 23 and 24.

Polls in Massachusetts are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 2. You can also use the Secretary of State's website to find your polling place.

  • Ward 2: Shamrock Elementary, 60 Green St.
  • Ward 3: Hurld-Wyman Elementary, 39 Wyman St.,
  • Ward 4, Precinct 1: former Wyman School, 679 Main St at Eaton Ave.
  • Ward 4, Precinct 2: White Elementary, 36 Bow St.,
  • Ward 5: Goodyear Elementary, 41 Central St.
  • Ward 6: Altavesta Elementary, 990 Main St.,
  • Ward 7: Reeves Elementary, 240 Lexington St.
