Patch has reached out to Galvin about the interim director's identity and will update this story with any updates.

Galvin praised the staff for stepping up in the wake of recent departures from the library leadership and said they are planning to bring in more programming as well as a children's librarian and a teen librarian.

Galvin is awaiting state approval of legislation he put forward to change the library's trustee structure and give him the authority to appoint and remove the library director.

Galvin's full interview with Today in Woburn is available here. He also discussed coronavirus stats, vaccine clinics, the city census and The Ledges project.
