Woburn Resident Represents MA at the FRAC National Anti-Hunger Policy

Project Bread's Director of Community Partnerships Uplifts Hunger Solutions Alongside State Representatives

WOBURN, Mass. – Woburn resident and Director of Community Partnerships at Project Bread, Adriana Mendes-Sheldon attended the Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) National Anti-Hunger Policy Conference in Washington D.C. earlier this month. Project Bread is the leading statewide food security organization in Massachusetts, and Mendes-Sheldon manages the nonprofit’s Community Partnerships programs, providing support to community-based organizations in their local efforts to end hunger.

During the June conference, Project Bread and Mass. Law Reform Institute hosted a Massachusetts delegation meet-and-greet with Congressman Jim McGovern and members of Whip Katherine Clark and Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley’s staff who work on nutrition and agriculture policy issues. The group discussed the impact of the proposed House Farm Bill on Massachusetts residents, the current landscape of food insecurity in Massachusetts, and resources that local and statewide organizations can provide to House and Senate members and staff. Mendes-Sheldon will continue her work in Massachusetts to uplift community-led solutions to hunger and advocate for statewide policies that help, and not harm, all Massachusetts residents.
