Woburn Seeks Input On Dog Park Improvements

The dog park opened in 2020 at Ferullo Field in Woburn. It is now eligible for additional grant funding.

WOBURN, MA — The dog park at Woburn’s Ferullo Field is now eligible for additional grant-funded improvements, the city’s Recreation Department announced on Thursday.

As a result, Woburn officials are seeking public input to steer their funding proposal.

“We want to hear from the users of the park what you feel is most needed in terms of capital improvements,” the Recreation Department said this week.

The dog park dates back to 2018, when the Stanton Foundation presented a design to the city for a dog park at Ferullo Field.

The foundation later gave Woburn a grant to cover 90 percent of the park’s construction costs, with the park finally opening in 2020.

Two years later, Woburn has a chance to receive more funding for upgrades to the dog park.

Those upgrades could include better lighting or shade infrastructure among other things, as noted in the Recreation Department’s announcement this week.
