Woburn Winter Parking Ban Begins Tuesday

WOBURN, MA — Frigid weather this week won’t be the only taste of winter for Woburn community members as the city’s winter parking ban is set to take effect on Tuesday.

Woburn Police shared a reminder on the ban on Sunday. The ban begins this week. It will continue through March 31, 2023, prohibiting parking on the even side of all city streets from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., as noted by police.

Woburn city parking regulations allow for a snow emergency "declared by proper authority." Snow emergencies ban all on-street parking. The fine for a parked vehicle interfering with snow removal is $50 under city ordinance.

Warmer temperatures in recent weeks gave way to colder days and nights at the end of this past weekend.

By Sunday, the National Weather Service’s Boston office predicted that the region might have seen its last 50-degree day “for quite some time.”

Experts warned Sunday that snow could filter in across parts of Western and Central Massachusetts on Tuesday night.

While likely spared from that accumulation, Accuweather on Monday morning predicted plunging temperatures throughout this week in the Woburn area, with lows possibly below 30 degrees by Thursday night.
