1 Hospitalized After Overnight Shooting In Worcester

WORCESTER, MA — The ramp from I-290 West to Route 146 South in Worcester was closed for several hours overnight after a shooting at around 2 a.m., according to Massachusetts State Police.

One person was shot in the leg and was taken to a local hospital, police said.

The victim told police that the shooting occurred while he and the suspect were driving separate vehicles, according to the Worcester Police Department.

Police said the two people involved seemed to know each other, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The ramp was closed until 5 a.m. to preserve the crime scene, and an investigation remains ongoing.
