2 Worcester Elementary Schools Could Get Roof, Window Replacements
The school district was invited to participate in a Massachusetts School Building Authority study.
WORCESTER, MA — Two schools in Worcester could be getting new roofs, all part of a Massachusetts School Building Authority study.
Worcester Public Schools announced that a study will assess and explore options for roof, window, and door replacement projects at Belmont Street Community School and Rice Square School. This comes after the school district was invited to participate in a schematic design phase of an Accelerated Repair Program through the MSBA.
“These design studies are an important step in ensuring our school buildings remain safe, energy-efficient, and well-maintained,” said Superintendent Brian E. Allen. “By planning these projects with the MSBA, WPS is taking a proactive approach to preserving our facilities so students and staff can focus on learning in safe, functional spaces.”

Meanwhile, at Rice Square School, WPS will consider roof, window, and door replacement projects totaling 13,140 square feet of roof, 178 windows, and 8 exterior building doors.
The MSBA program focuses on energy-efficient and cost-saving upgrades.
