26 Children To Finalize Adoptions At Worcester County's National Adoption Day Celebration

The annual celebration will take place in November.

WORCESTER COUNTY, MA — Worcester County will celebrate National Adoption Day this year by finalizing the adoptions for 26 children joining 20 families from across the county.

The annual celebration at the Worcester County Juvenile Court will take place on Friday, Nov. 21. There will be breakfast, arts and crafts, local sports mascots, princess and superhero characters, and service and comfort dogs.

Throughout the morning, five judges will preside over adoptions in separate courtrooms at the district court building at 225 Main St.

National Adoption Day is meant to raise awareness for the thousands of children in foster care who are waiting for permanent, loving families. In Worcester County, approximately 2,000 children are in child protective custody.

CASA Project Worcester County, a nonprofit organization that advocates for the best interests of abused, neglected, and vulnerable children, the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families, and the Worcester County Juvenile Court are hosting the event.
