9 From Worcester County Among 56 Charged In MA Child Sex Abuse Investigation

A three-day statewide operation resulted in arrests across 36 communities.

WORCESTER COUNTY, MA — Nine people from Worcester County were among the 56 charged in a three-day, statewide operation last week, according to the Massachusetts State Police.

Operation Firewall resulted in arrests across 36 Massachusetts communities. The nine defendants from Worcester County are from Bellingham, Charlton, Clinton, Fitchburg, Grafton, Millbury, Sutton, Templeton and Worcester, according to the Worcester County District Attorney.

They are facing charges connected to child pornography, child enticement, as well as charges stemming from outstanding warrants for assault and battery of a child, rape of a child, and failure to register with the Sex Offender Registry Board.

“I want to thank all the state and local law enforcement agencies that worked together during this coordinated initiative to protect our children,” said Worcester DA Joseph D. Early. “This hard work is a great proactive step in our prevention efforts to keep our community safe.”
