Black Sheep Bah-Bah-Q In Worcester Closes
The restaurant that started as a Spencer food truck opened along Chandler Street in late 2022.

WORCESTER, MA — A local barbecue restaurant that grew from a food truck in Spencer to a sit-down location in Worcester has closed.
Black Sheep Bah-Bah-Q owners Jennifer Wright and Patrick Flynn announced the closure in a Facebook post this week.
"Thank you all so much for supporting us here at Black Sheep. Unfortunately, we will be closing our doors permanently. We will miss seeing all of your smiling faces and can’t thank you enough for the support," the post said.

Black Sheep Bah-Bah-Q, previously located along Route 9 in Spencer near Sibley Farm, opened its Chandler Street restaurant in November 2023. The Spencer location originally opened in 2021.
The restaurant served BBQ classics like smoked ribs, pulled pork and brisket, plus sides like macaroni and cheese, cornbread and coleslaw. It also created a mini BBQ district in Worcester with B.T.'s Fried Chicken and BBQ located just a few blocks east at the corner of Chandler and Park Avenue. B.T.'s also started outside Worcester, with an always-busy spot along Route 20 in Sturbridge.

But Black Sheep's closing also means the local BBQ scene will shrink further. Smokestack Urban BBQ along Green Street closed right before Black Sheep opened after the property was sold to make way for a development.
