Chaotic Arrest, Man Charged With Carrying Loaded Gun Near Polar Park

The Worcester Police Department shared a video of the incident on social media.

WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester man was charged with carrying a loaded gun after a chaotic arrest.

Emmanuel Hernandez is facing charges after carrying a loaded illegal gun near a baseball park in Worcester, according to police. The 33-year-old was previously wanted for pointing a firearm at someone.

Officers stopped the vehicle on Madison Street, across from Polar Park on Wednesday before 5 p.m. There was heavy pedestrian and motor vehicle traffic because a game was scheduled to start soon, according to police.

Police removed Hernandez from the vehicle and began to resist in an attempt to flee, according to WPD. Hernandez was then taken to the ground, when a firearm fell from his waistband.

He was charged with Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number, Resisting Arrest and two warrants.
