Clark Student's Design Wins MassDOT Work Zone Awareness Campaign

MassDOT asked college students across the state to contribute designs for a work zone awareness billboards.

WORCESTER, MA — A Clark University student is among the three winners of a MassDOT contest to design work zone awareness billboards for a summer awareness campaign.

Clark University junior Erik Vandergrift won second place in the contest, and will get a the Massachusetts Aggregate and Asphalt Pavement Association scholarship in addition to having his design featured on digital billboards this summer.

The theme for this year’s National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) was, “Work Zones are temporary. Actions behind the wheel can last forever,” according to MassDOT.

The first place winner was Endicott College's Emma Greenblatt, and the third place winner was Samantha VanZandt of UMass Amherst.
