WORCESTER, MA — The state Department of Conservation and Recreation will soon begin a capital project upgrading key facilities at the Lake Park section of Quinsigamond State Park in Worcester.

Starting Aug. 19, DCR will replace spectator seating around the track and football field at the north end of the park. The $50,000 project will also add an asphalt path from the north parking lot adjacent to the field connecting to the park's 1-mile walking loop.

The track, football/soccer field and walking loop will stay open during construction, but some parts of the park may be fenced off, according to the agency.
