WORCESTER, MA — The former Fairway Beef market in Worcester is now on the market.

The 44 Grafton St. building is selling for just under $1 million, and was marked as a pending sale as of Friday morning, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

Fairway Beef abruptly closed down on July 3, 2021, after 75 years in business — with speculation the closure was related to a possible development due to its proximity to the new Polar Park.

The Sigel family opened the market in the Canal District in 1946. The store sold all types of meat cuts, plus staples like bread, eggs and deli cheese.
