There are plenty of holiday light shows, parades, fairs and festivals to attend in Worcester.
WORCESTER, MA — With Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa festivities filling the December calendar, the problem may be deciding which events in Worcester to attend.
Outside these religious and cultural celebrations, there are plenty of holiday light shows, parades, fairs and festivals to attend in Worcester. Here are some to consider:
- Dec. 5
- Festival of Lights at Worcester Common, 4:30 to 9 p.m
- The 2025 Boston Pops Holiday Tour at Hanover Theatre, 8 p.m.
- Dec. 6
- Unitarian Universalist Church Holiday Craft & Vendor Fair, 90 Holden St., 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Dec. 7
- Arthritis Foundation Jingle Bell Run 5K, Bay State Brewery & Tap Room, 112 Harding St, 9 a.m.
- Dec. 13
- Third Annual Santa Crawl, The White Eagle, 116-120 Green St., 1 p.m.
Plus, Polar Park will turn into a winter wonderland in December. Winter in Wooville at Polar Park will take place Dec. 4 to Dec. 7, Dec. 11 to Dec. 13, and Dec. 18 to Dec. 23.

As you plan your calendar, here are some key dates to consider:
- Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish “festival of lights,” celebrated with a nightly menorah lighting, special prayers and fried foods, begins at sundown on Dec. 14 and continues until sundown on Dec. 22. The dates vary every year.
- Christmas, of course, is always Dec. 25.
- Kwanzaa, a weeklong celebration primarily held in the United States to honor African heritage and African-American culture, is observed from Dec. 26-Jan. 1, culminating with gift-giving and a lavish feast. The dates of this holiday do not change.
