Holy Cross To Name Science Building After Anthony Fauci

This June, Holy Cross will dedicate a building to Dr. Anthony Fauci while allowing students who graduated online in 2020 to walk in person.

WORCESTER, MA — The country's top infectious disease specialist - whose name has been mentioned in the news more than any other infectious disease expert in the past, Dr. Anthony Fauci will be honored by his Massachusetts alma mater this summer.

On June 11, the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester will be dedicating a new building as the Anthony S. Fauci Integrated Science Complex.

"Dr. Fauci has often credited his professional success to the Jesuit intellectual rigor that was a core part of his Holy Cross education, which instilled in him a lifelong commitment to social justice," the school said in a news release.

"It's fitting that Dr. Fauci's name will adorn a complex designed to foster integrated learning across multiple academic disciplines – the kind of broad, collaborative and holistic thinking one needs to manage health crises such as HIV/AIDS, Ebola and Zika, or the current COVID-19 pandemic," Vincent Rougeau, the president of Holy Cross, said in a statement.
