WORCESTER, MA — The jury found Joshua Hubert guilty of two counts of attempted murder and one count each of kidnapping and strangulation, according to the Telegram and Gazette.

Patch originally reported that Hubert was at a cookout with the victim's family the day before the crime. He was accused of putting the girl in his car, where he strangled her and then threw her off the I-290 bridge over Lake Quinsigamond. The girl swam to shore and sought help at a home on the Shrewsbury side of the lake.

The Telegram reported that the girl, who survived and is 15 years old, was the prosecutor's lead witness. Hubert never took the stand.
