New Worcester Bike Alliance Launches With Bike Month Events
May is National Bike Month. A new pro-cycling group in Worcester and Worcester County has plenty on the docket.

WORCESTER, MA — A new local group promoting bicycle riding in the Worcester area is starting off with a series of events celebrating National Bike Month in May.
The Worcester Bike Alliance is an effort by transportation groups in the area "to promote cycling in all its forms." The bike month celebration will culminate on May 18 with a celebration of the locals who participated in the free electronic bike program. The event will also include a group ride in the Mill Street area, where new bike lanes were completed in late 2023.
The League of American Bicyclists has been celebrating National Bike Month since the 1950s to promote the benefits of bicycling. One of the main highlights of the month is bike-to-work week on May 13 to 19.
