WORCESTER, MA — An elementary school in Worcester received a donation from a professional athlete.
Isaac Yiadom, a cornerback on the New Orleans Saints and a Worcester Public Schools graduate, donated school supplies to Chandler Elementary Community School. The NFL star gave more than $5,000 worth of backpacks, classroom materials and other supplies to more than 400 students and staff.
The school held an assembly, where members of Yiadom's family attended, and he joined via Zoom to speak with students and answer their questions.

“My heart is always with Worcester. School should be a time of excitement and opportunity — not stress over supplies," Yiadom said. "I’m proud to play a small part in helping these kids and the incredible teachers who support them every day."
