Nguyen To Receive Monthly Stipend During Absence: Report
The city councilor, who announced their hiatus and alleged LGBTQ+ discrimination from their colleagues, will still receive a stipend.

WORCESTER, MA - Counilor At-Large Thu Nguyen, who announced their hiatus from the city council due to alleged LGBTQ+ discrimination from fellow colleagues and Mayor Joseph Petty, will continue to receive a monthly stipend, according to the Telegram & Gazette.
City Clerk Nikolin Vangjeli said that Nguyen will receive a stipend of roughly $2,641 per month. That rate is set for all councilors regardless of their tenure on the panel. Vangjeli, who noted Nguyen did not notify them about their decision to step aside, will continue to call their name during roll call as usual.
