Overdue Book Returned To Worcester Library After 51 Years

The library announced on FaceBook that a book checked out in 1973 was returned to the Cambridge Public Library before making its way home.

WORCESTER, MA - It's unclear when the librarians first noticed it was missing, but they need not worry anymore. A book checked out of the Worcester Public Library in 1973 was finally returned after 51 years.

The library announced on Facebook that "The Early Work of Aubrey Beardsley," published in 1899 and added to the library's collection in July of that year, made its way back to Worcester.

"Aubrey Beardsley was an English illustrator and author," the Library said in its post. "His black ink drawings were influenced by the grotesque, the decadent and the erotic."
