Pedestrian Killed In Early Morning Crash: Worcester Police

A 61-year-old man was killed in the fatal crash.

WORCESTER, MA—One man is dead after an accident in Worcester early Monday morning.

On Monday, Dec. 4, around 6:40 a.m., a car accident occurred around 495 Shrewsbury St., with a pedestrian reportedly struck. When police got there, they found a 2017 Jeep Wrangler, its operator, and a 61-year-old pedestrian from Worcester on the ground. The victim suffered very serious injuries and was later pronounced dead at the hospital, said police.

Investigators found that the Wrangler was headed north on Shrewsbury Street and at the same time, the pedestrian was crossing Shrewsbury Street, heading west toward Belmont Street, when he was struck in the far left travel lane. The victim was thrown a significant distance from the impact of the collision, said police.
