Prison Sentence For Worcester Thrift Store Manager Who Stole $430K: Feds

The Blackstone man will have to pay back the stolen fund, and pay taxes on what he stole, a judge decided.

WORCESTER, MA — A Blackstone man will spend three years in federal prison after pleading guilty to wire fraud and tax evasion charges after stealing from the Worcester thrift store where he worked as a manager, according to federal prosecutors.

Anthony Prizio, 49, pleaded guilty in February to six counts of wire fraud, tax evasion and unauthorized use of a person's identity. Prizio used the unidentified store's time card system to add hours to employee paychecks — including former employees — and then kept the extra money for himself. He also didn't pay taxes on the stolen income, prosecutors said.

Prizio stole a total of about $430,000 between 2019 and 2021, prosecutors said.
