Rapper Joyner Lucas Honored With Street Name In Worcester
The 36-year-old was born and raised in the city.
WORCESTER, MA — A popular artist said he is being honored in the city this month.
Rapper Joyner Lucas, 36, the Worcester native who made it big, said he is being honored with his very own street name. There will be a celebration on August 17 at 2 p.m. on the corner of Dewey and Chandler Streets.
Lucas is well known for his R&B hits, including "White Noise," "Tear Me Down" and "Isis."

The party is not only to celebrate the naming of Joyner Lucas Ave, but also to celebrate the rapper's birthday. The street will be shut down with food trucks and music.
"I've accomplished a lot, but this is a big milestone for me because people don’t ever usually get street names until they dead," wrote Lucas on social media. "I'm happy I get to experience this while still alive."
