Sewer Maintenance In Worcester Delayed By Weather
A longterm sewer maintenance project across several Worcester locations has been delayed by a few days following inclement weather.

WORCESTER, MA - The planned sewer maintenance throughout Worcester has been delayed by two days following the frigid weather conditions over the weekend.
Work initially set to begin on Shrewsbury Street, Plum Street and a portion of E. Worcester Street is now set to begin Thursday, Feb. 20.

The Worcester Department of Public Works announced Thursday that sewer maintenance will begin on Monday, Feb. 18.

Sewers on Shrewsbury Street, Plum Street and E. Worcester Street will be cleaned and new structural reinforcements will be installed to existing pipes to increase service lives.
Streets will remain open, but traffic and parking will be affected in certain work areas on an intermittent basis. The duration of the construction is expected to last around nine months.
Planned work locations for the next two weeks are as follows:
- Tuesday, Feb. 18 to Wednesday, Feb. 19 from Granby Road to Imperial Road.
- Thursday, Feb. 20 to Friday, Feb. 21 from Imperial Road to Adams Street.
- Monday, Feb. 24 to Wednesday, Feb. 26 from Putname Lane to Marshall Street.
- Wednesday, Feb. 26 to Friday, Feb. 28 from Putname Lane to Marshall Street.
From February to April, there will only be work on particular manholes. The most significant repairs will start in late April and early May.
Worcester residents can expect to see temporary message boards and signs alerting motorists that work will begin.
