Shooting Breaks Out In Worcester After Men Meet On Vernon Hill
The Thursday afternoon shooting left one man with a gunshot wound to the arm, police said.
WORCESTER, MA — One person was wounded when shooting broke out during a meeting between two men Thursday on Vernon Hill, according to police.
Worcester police responded to near the corner of Esther and Vernon streets around 4:30 p.m. for a reported shooting. They found the 24-year-old victim at the scene with a gunshot wound in the arm. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
"The incident is currently under investigation, and does not appear to random in nature. The initial investigation revealed that the shooting appeared to have occurred during an agreed-upon meeting between men," police said in a news release.

The Vernon Hill shooting was the second in 24 hours in Worcester. On Wednesday night, a man was shot and wounded at the WRTA hub along Foster Street downtown.
