Mass. State Trooper Filmed Pummeling Worcester Suspect Indicted
A Grand Jury handed down charges for the Massachusetts State Police officer captured on video repeatedly hitting a suspect.

NASHUA, NH — One of two officers was indicted Tuesday, after being captured on video repeatedly punching a Worcester suspect following a police chase this May.
A New Hampshire State Trooper and Massachusetts State Trooper were caught by media helicopter cameras repeatedly hitting a man who appeared to have surrendered after a wild and winding car chase through both states. Both officers were suspended, and placed on unpaid leave, after both state police outfits launched a criminal probe into the incident.
The Massachusetts State Trooper, Joseph Flynn, was indicted on Tuesday, charged by a grand jury with two enhanced misdemeanor counts of simple assault, NECN reports.

The New Hampshire State Trooper was also charged with assault, and pleaded guilty in August.
The suspect in the car chase, Richard Simone, 50, of Worcester, Mass., also faces numerous charges.

Flynn's arraignment date is set for October 14, according to NECN.
