AUBURN, MA — Three people in Central Massachusetts are facing charges after a shoplifting incident, according to police.

The three suspects, Robbin Wilson, 34, of Marlborough; Michael St. Jean, 42, of Worcester; and Anthony Williams, 42, of Leicester, are accused of shoplifting from T.J. Maxx in Auburn and fleeing in a stolen vehicle, Auburn police said.

T.J. Maxx notified Auburn police that a shoplifter left the store and jumped into a red sedan with Massachusetts plates shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 26. The truck was seen driving onto Route 12, police said.

"Fortunately for us and unfortunately for them this all unfolded on one of the busiest travel days of the year, when Route 12 traffic was crawling, patience was limited, and the suspect’s escape plan was moving about as fast as holiday mail delivery. For once, Auburn traffic actually worked in our favor," wrote the police department in a news release.

Officers pulled over the vehicle on Southbridge Street in Auburn and discovered it was stolen.
