At the Table With Executive Chef Rose-Ellen Padavano
Padavano made white linguini with clam sauce for 'Big Pussy' from the Sopranos once, and he was crazy about it.

WORCESTER, MA — In a past life, Rose-Ellen Padavano had a career as a researcher for pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. But in 2010, she decided to follow a dream, and pursue her passion for cooking.
Padavano is now executive chef at Padavano's Place, one of three restaurants she owns with her wife Angela.
Padavano started a catering business, and soon thereafter, found a cozy little restaurant on Hamilton Street. She opened Rosalina's Kitchen and it quickly became known as one of Worcester's hidden gems. Padavano's Place opened not long after, and Somethin' Catchy opened this year.

What’s in your fridge at home? Since I'm rarely ever home due to my demanding work schedule, the contents of my fridge are Miller Lite, water, Diet Coke and maybe some mustard. On my one day off, Tuesdays, we spend time enjoying local restaurants.
Ever cook for anyone famous? Yes! I cooked for Vincent Pastore, aka "Big Pussy" from the Sopranos. As the story goes, he had plans to visit the steak house down the street but saw Padavano's Place and told his driver to pull over. He ate my white linguini and clam sauce and went crazy over it.
If you could cook for anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? I would love to cook for Ina Garten. The Barefoot Contessa is very inspiring and I'd love to bounce ideas off each other. I admire her as she is self taught, as I am.
Best cooking music: Late '80s pop!
Favorite dish to make: I love creating ravioli fillings. I enjoy selecting various ingredients and pairing them with the perfect sauce. It's rewarding to hear the feedback.
Favorite dish on the menu: Frutti Di Mare. All the fruits of the sea in a rich broth.
Most inspirational to you as a chef: Ina Garten. She's a self-taught world-renowned chef who has been so successful that she's published multiple books, has her own culinary brand, and TV show. I love her no frills style. She's simple, yet on point.
Cooking shows you watch? Not enough time in the day.
Padavano's Place is located at 358 Shrewsbury St. in Worcester, as is Somethin' Catchy Seafood Shanty. Rosalina's Kitchen is at 83 Hamilton St.
