U.S. Attorney For Mass. Comments On Worcester Police Probe: Report
The recently-appointed U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts provided comments on the Worcester Police probe.

WORCESTER, MA - The recently-appointed U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts, Leah Foley, told MassLive that the state is reviewing the recent Department of Justice (DOJ) order to freeze civil rights litigations, the outlet reported.
Foley said that her office will comply with the directive, but she did not provide any insight into what will happen next between Worcester and the DOJ. In December 2024, the Department released an explosive report of a civil investigation into the Worcester Police Department that outlined uses of excessive force and illegal sex acts committed by officers.
Since President Donald Trump's election, there have been questions surrounding whether the probe would continue. For now, its status is still up in the air. A Worcester spokesperson confirmed to MassLive and Patch that there have been no changes to the negotiations as of now.
