Violent Crime Trends Down In Worcester This Year, Police Data Shows

WORCESTER, MA — New data released by the Worcester Police Department on Thursday showed a downward trend in violent crime this year.

Police shared year-to-date statistics through October, which included violent crime and gunfire incidents, as well as property crime, disorderly conduct, noise disturbances, and traffic incidents.

The number of aggravated assaults is down more than 10 percent from 2024 to 2025, according to the data. The number of robberies and reported gunshots is also down this year, with nearly 24 percent fewer robbery incidents and more than 28 percent fewer incidents of reported gunshots.

The data also shows that police saw a downward trend in breaking, motor vehicle theft, larceny from a motor vehicle and vandalism from 2024 to 2025.

Meanwhile, non-fatal shooting incidents, non-fatal shooting victims, and stabbings or slashings trend downward by only a small margin between the two years.
