Woman Accused Of Assault, Battery After Stabbing Incident In Worcester
Police said the man had a stab wound in his left abdomen.

WORCESTER, MA — A 22-year-old woman in Worcester arrested after police investigated a large crowd yelling and pointing at 2 a.m. on Saturday.
Makayli Melendez, 22, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, according to police. Officers observed the crowd in a public parking lot on Water Street.
When they exited their vehicle, officers said they saw a male fall to the ground as a woman aggressively moved toward him. The woman was arrested, and officers said the man had a stab wound in his left abdomen.

The man told officers he had never seen the woman before and that she approached him and started attacking him, according to police.
An investigation is underway, and a pocket knife was found at the scene.
