Worcester County Schools Get Funds For Safe Prom, Graduation Celebrations
The District Attorney's office gave out a total of $23,100 to different schools in the county.

WORCESTER, MA — Twenty schools in Worcester County got funding for safe pre- and post-prom and graduation events, according to the DA's office.
Westborough High School, Saint Paul Diocesan Junior-Senior High School in Worcester, Grafton High School, Algonquin High School, and Milford High School were among those that received funding from District Attorney Joseph D. Early's office for the events.
This is the seventh year of an annual grant program designed to prevent students from driving impaired. The DA’s office gave out a total of $23,100 to fund the events, which are organized and overseen by adults.

The celebrations will offer safe drug- and alcohol- free alternatives.
“We know that life can change in the blink of an eye, and we want to do everything we can to prevent a tragedy before it occurs,” said DA Early. “Prom and graduation are major milestones that deserve to be celebrated, but too often we see young people engaging in risky behavior following these events.”
