Worcester Gives $1.9M For Day Resource Center For Homeless Residents
The center is expected to open sometime next year.

WORCESTER, MA — The city gave $1.9 million to the Central Massachusetts Housing Alliance, according to an announcement on Tuesday.
The money, which is just part of an intended total of $4 million, is for CMHA's Day Resource Center. The center will be a place where individuals experiencing homelessness can access services in one location.
The CMHA's Day Resource Center, which will open at 134 Gold St. sometime in 2026. People will be able to visit during daytime hours and have access to bathrooms, showers, charging stations, laundry, and storage lockers.

"We are excited to partner with CMHA in creating a dedicated facility where unhoused individuals can rest, recharge and connect with services," the city wrote in a news release.
