Worcester Hosts Event To Highlight Women In The Communtiy

WORCESTER, MA — There will be a ceremony to honor women in Worcester next week.

The Woman and Young Woman of Consequence Awards Ceremony will take place on Tuesday. The event, led by the city's Advisory Committee on the Status of Women, is meant to highlight extraordinary women of all ages.

This year's theme is "Empathy in Action." The public is invited to attend the event, which begins at 5:30 p.m., in the Levi Lincoln Chamber at City Hall.

The ACSW was created in 1977 to create and encourage policies and programs relating to women in Worcester. It specifically promotes community awareness on issues like sexual exploitation, pay equality and childcare.
