Worcester, The Latest 'It' City, According To NPR
Worcester is particularly hot in the areas of tech, specialty manufacturing and biomedical businesses.

WORCESTER, MA—Along with cities such as Hoboken, NJ, and Oakland, CA, NPR has named Worcester as one of the next "It" cities that are experiencing a boom.
Author Aaron Schachter puts the spotlight on Worcester, stating it is "seeing its stock rise so fast that it is outpacing just about every other small city in America and could find itself a case study for urban growth."
Schachter writes that Worcester is particularly hot in the areas of tech, specialty manufacturing and biomedical businesses. Being an hour train ride from Boston (where housing costs are rising), and with city officials giving the OK to $2.6 billion in construction for new housing and retail, "Worcester is finally growing, after losing residents for much of the past century." It's a great place for foodies, too.
