Worcester Man, 24, Dies After Shooting In Main South Area

The man was found shot early Saturday morning, according to Worcester police.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in a neighborhood south of the downtown area.

Police responded to Allendale Street just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday following an alert from a ShotSpotter device, the department reported. When police arrived, they found the 24-year-old man "unresponsive." He was pronounced dead shortly after at a local hospital.

Worcester police did not immediately announce any arrests related to the shooting.

Saturday's shooting was the fourth shooting death so far in 2024 following the double-fatal shooting along Lisbon Street, and the killing of a 17-year-old in February.
