Worcester Man Charged In Federal Court With Firearm Possession

A Worcester man was charged in federal court with unlawful possession of a firearm as a convicted felon.

WORCESTER, MA - A Worcester man was charged in federal court in Worcester with unlawfully possessing a firearm and ammunition, according to a news release from the United States Attorney's Office.

Ryan Davidson, 39, a convicted felon, was pulled over in May 2023 for a marked lines violation and a suspicious Georgia "dealer" license plate. After failing to provide proof of insurance of the vehicle, Davidson was told he could leave with a citation but his car would be towed and searched.

He then fled the scene on foot and was apprehended in a backyard on a nearby street. At the time, Davidson was wearing a GPS monitor due to open state charges involving a firearm. After searching his vehicle, police found a heavy black bag with a balaclava, a gun with no serial number, ammunition and a silencer. Additionally, a second gun was found in the glovebox.

Davidson's charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition carries a sentence of up to 15 years of incarceration.
