Worcester Man Convicted Of First-Degree Murder: Report

A Worcester man was convicted of the first-degree murder of a young father from Boston.

WORCESTER, MA - A Worcester man was convicted of first-degree murder Thursday, the Telegram & Gazette reported.

Jacob Grice, 39, shot and killed Darren Dyette, 31, a father from Boston on King Street in August 2020 "with premeditation and extreme cruelty," according a 12-person Worcester Superior Court jury.

Earlier in February, Grice was accused of plotting Dyette's murder with his then-girlfriend Amber Gravel. The duo reportedly lured Dyette into Worcester before shooting him seven times. Grice now faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The Telegram reported that members of Dyette's family wept as the verdict was read. Prosecutors deemed the murder "an execution."
