Worcester Man Wins $1M Lottery Prize

He said he plans on putting the winnings toward retirement.

WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester man won a massive prize in a Massachusetts State Lottery instant ticket game.

Jamshid Shadfar won $1 million in the "$5,00,000 100X Cashword" game, and he chose to receive a one-time payment of $650,000, according to the State Lottery Commission. Shadfar said he plans to put the winnings toward retirement.

He purchased the ticket at Value Mart in Worcester, located at 50 Hamilton St. The store will also recieve a $10,000 bonus for the sale.
