Worcester Playground To Close After Safety Surface Improperly Installed
The playground is expected to reopen early Fall.
WORCESTER, MA — A popular Worcester playground will close this week for renovations.
Elm Park Playground at 138 Russell St. will be temporarily closed starting on Friday. The safety surface installed at the playground was installed improperly, according to a news release from the city.
Worcester's Department of Parks, Recreation & Cemetery said a new surface was ordered, and it was at no cost to the city.

The playground is expected to reopen early Fall. Meanwhile, the department encouraged residents to visit other playgrounds at Wetherell Estate Park, Beaver Brook Park and Coes Park.
