Worcester Police Find Fentanyl, Stolen Converters From Residence

A group of Worcester residents were charged in connection to fentanyl trafficking late last week.

WORCESTER, MA - The Worcester Police Department (WPD) found significant quantities of fentanyl form a Vale Street home late last week.

According to a news release from the WPD, the target of the search warrant was Michael Hoose, 60. Around 7 a.m. on March 21 officers entered the home and found Michael Hoose Sr., Michael Hoose Jr., Felicia Durphy and Nicholas Trotta inside. Hoose Sr. told the responders he would give them an envelope with $10,000 if they left.

Officers found nearly 650 bags of fentanyl (roughly 150 grams), packaging materials, scales, ammunition and $226,430. They also found suspected stolen catalytic converters.

Hoose Sr. was charged with Trafficking in a Class A Substance (Fentanyl) 100-199 grams, Possession of Ammunition without an FID, Receiving Stolen Property Over $1,200 and Bribery and Intimidation of a Witness. Hoose Jr. was charged with the same but without bribery and intimidation. Durfee was charged with Trafficking in a Class A Substance (Fentanyl) 100-199 grams, and Trotta was arrested for several outstanding warrants.
